Change Management

UBC IT plans, schedules, and executes regular maintenance on its services and systems throughout the year. However, when changes are done to some of the enterprise IT systems for which UBC IT is responsible, there are potential high impacts to the campus community. Changes to many of these services requires significant resource planning and co-ordination to implement. Therefore UBC IT has established the following calendar dates for planned major maintenance windows:

  • Q1: University Reading Week
  • Q2: May statutory holiday weekend
  • Q3: First August weekend following the statutory holiday
  • Q4: November 11
  • December Maintenance: December 26 to 31 dependent on statutory holidays

Publication of these dates is intended to assist other IT organizations in their planning and scheduling processes.
